Investing in your success

Every degree and certificate requires an investment of time, effort, and money. Fortunately, there are a number of resources available to provide you with financial support.

  • Scholarships and grants. As an educational partner invested in your success, BU MET offers a number of University graduate scholarships, as well as sources to access private scholarships and grants. These types of aid do not require repayment.
  • Tuition assistance and reimbursement. Many employers invest in their employees’ professional development with tuition assistance. If employed, your company may offer direct payment of tuition or tuition reimbursement. Your human resources department should be able to provide information on the funds that may be available to you, any requirements to qualify for those funds, and how and when to apply for them.
  • Government loans and grants. Federal and state governments offers financial aid opportunities for all eligible students, regardless of income. Students must be matriculated into a degree program to qualify for funds, and there are program-credit minimums.
  • Federal Aid. To apply for federal grants and loans, you will need to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). There is no cost to apply. Funds can be used for tuition and qualified educational and living expenses.
  • For graduate students, the categories for loan types, and the amounts awarded and criteria for each differ. Graduate loan information and these Frequently Asked Questions provide an overview of available funds.

“A number of factors went into my decision to enroll in MET. Because I need to work full time, courses at night are perfect. Also, price was a consideration. It's not cheap to put yourself through school and after shopping around to see what other institutions in the Boston area were offering and at what price, MET basically became the only choice.”

Jimmy Goddard, MET 2017
